The chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Afolabi Sofola has assured community leaders within the local government area that the interests and wellbeing of the people and communities would be given paramount consideration as preparation for 2019 budget begins.
Sofola made the disclosure at the council secretariat during a stakeholder’s forum tagged “Sharing The Future At The Local Grassroots Level” organised for community leaders to make inputs in the planning of the 2019 Council’s budget.
He stressed that his administration would continue to engage the people of Kosofe LGA in positive discussion, while noting that their contributions in the previous year played significant role in the execution of projects by his administration.
The chairman, Community Development Committee (CDC) in the LGA, Alhaji R.A Kazeem, commended the chairman for the good work done in the outgoing year. He also submitted proposals of each ward to the chairman.
Alhaja Balogun, the Iyalaje general of Kosofe Markets, while submitting proposal on behalf of the 11 markets in the LGA, prayed the chairman to urgently look at the possibility of rehabilitating markets at Ogudu, Anthony, Mende, Araromi, Ifelodu, Sawmill and Ojota.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) chairman, Kosofe chapter, Primate Olatunji, enjoin the chairman to rehabilitate Olojojo and Oworo roads.
He also appealed for the provision of adequate security and protection of life and property at Oworosoki; and sought for sponsorship of members of religious bodies to holy lands.
The traditional rulers represented by Baale of Araromi, Alhaji Oriola Onalaja and Baale of Soluyi, Chief Solomon Olamiju appealed to the chairman to focus more on the development of their communities.
