French civil aviation Authorities have confirmed that Cardiff City new signing Emiliano Sala was on board a missing aircraft off the coast of the Island of Guernsey.
According to Air Traffic control the aircraft was traveling from Nantes in western France when it went missing.
A search and rescue operation was launched and carried on until 2 am before being called off, the process resumed at 8 AM this morning.
Cardiff signed Sala for a club record £15m after protracted negotiations with Nantes.
He has been among the top scorers in France in recent years and had scored 13 league and cup goals this season, third behind Kylian Mbappe and Nicolas Pepe.
