BBNaija season 5's Covid-19 awareness is just what the audience needs amid the pandemic

From ensuring the 20 housemates of this season spend over two weeks in isolation to setting up disinfection areas right before the house's main entrance, it is apparent that Covid-19 awareness is on top of this year's key message.

Amid the fun and intense drama that fans hope to garner in the coming weeks, organizers have been dropping hints that ultimately say that there will be a ton of activities to spur the audience to take the pandemic even more seriously.

Certainly, it is a brilliant move. With the level of influence the show has on its West African audience (predominately young people), a campaign subtle or not will do much more than the government has in the past few months since the outbreak.

Take day four's task for instance. The housemates were instructed by Big Brother to design masks and make hand sanitizers. Prior to their safety kits task, the housemates were recently informed of the need to sanitize their hands after a visit to the garden or the arena.

As unconspicuous as these tasks may seem, the audiences as earlier stated are the better for it especially as the world continues to battle the Covid-19 pandemic.
