Big update emerges in Arsenal’s pursuit of Benjamin Sesko ahead of January

Arsenal have been linked with a number of strikers ahead of the January transfer window, and an update has now emerged over target Benjamin Sesko.

The 20-year-old has been linked with Arsenal in recent days, as Mikel Arteta has been urged to sign a striker to strengthen his attacking options in the Premier League title race.

The Slovenia international moved from Red Bull Salzburg to Bundesliga partner RB Leipzig in the summer, following a path of development not too dissimilar to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

He has scored six times in 14 games across all competitions for Leipzig since his move, and is a striker who could be on the verge of an explosive breakthrough.

Arsenal handed blow in race for Benjamin Sesko

Unfortunately for Arteta, Sesko may not be on the move any time soon, as journalist Ben Jacobs has told GIVEMESPORT that the talented forward is in no hurry to leave.

“Yeah, I’m not so sure there’s too much in these links between Arsenal and Sesko. With any top young player, Premier League clubs are doing normal due diligence and scouting, but I don’t think that there’s anything particularly concrete between Arsenal and Sesko at this point,” Jacobs claimed.

“With Sesko, he obviously decided to bide his time and keep his development within the Red Bull group, moving in 2023 from Salzburg to Leipzig, and his development has continued in the Bundesliga.

“This season, he has scored three goals in seven games and I think it’s six in all competitions, off the back of 18 goals last season for Salzburg. But the player is in no rush from what I’m told.”
