The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted to statement by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, that he would grant amnesty to corrupt Nigerians if they return their loot or invest it in the country.
DAILY POST had reported that Atiku said he may consider granting looters amnesty provided they were willing to reinvest their loots in Nigeria, thereby creating jobs.
The former Vice president said this on Wednesday while answering questions on, ‘The Candidates’, a presidential town hall co-production on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
But reacting, Shehu Sani claimed that the APC and PDP are ‘coveting looters. He also alleged that the APC is offering looters asylum for their sins.
He tweeted, ”Looters are being covered on both sides; one side is offering them AMNESTY for them to invest, and the other side is offering them ASYLUM for their sins to be washed.
”Barabbas, thee can now sleepth in Peace, for thy kind hath find honour in our land.”
