Steven Gerrard has defended Glen Kamara after he was the victim of alleged racism in Rangers' defeat to Slavia.

Steven Gerrard has given his full support and backing to Glen Kamara after he accused Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela of making a racist remark. The incident sadly overshadowed the contest, as Rangers crashed out of Europe with a 2-0 (3-1 aggregate) defeat at Ibrox.

Late in the second half, Kudela clashed with his opponent and covered his mouth as he made a remark in his face.

The comment sparked immediate fury from Kamara and team-mate Bongani Zungu, who began to made accusations of racism to the referee.

According to pundit Alan Hutton, Kamara was heard shouting "racist, racist" while Zungu asked the fourth official if he'd heard what was said.

After the game, Rangers boss Gerrard was keen to get to the bottom of the incident as he confronted the opposition for an explanation.
