The EFL are looking for ways to make changes to the punishment for clubs who enter administration following Derby County’s appeal against the points deduction, according to reports.
The Rams were given a 12-point deduction after entering administration at the end of last month, leaving them at the bottom of the Championship table.
The outcome of the appeal will be decided by an Independent Disciplinary Commission next month.
However, following the appeal, the Sun’s Alan Nixon reports that the EFL are exploring proposals to discourage future attempts to appeal against the deduction.
It is reported that one of the options would be to make the administrators personally responsible for the legal fees that are required to make an appeal instead of the fee of around £300,000 coming from club funds.
